| A program of distance
adoptions implemented in cooperation with the missionary sisters of
St. Anne’s Daughters, dedicated to children aged 2-12
living in extremely poor conditions in Boditti, 380 kms. South of
Addis Abeba, where Butterfdly Foundation in presently engaged in the
implementation of several humanitarian projects.
The missionary sisters of St. Anne's Daughters congregation are presently
taking care of approx two hundred children living in extremely poor
conditions in Boditti, a village of 13.000 inhabitants located 380
kms, south of the capital Addis Abeba, trying their best to secure
these kids a pre-school education ( no elementary school is available
in Boditti up to the moment) as well as some nourishment.
To adopt one of these children means therefore to give them a chance
to improve their poor living conditions and to have a basic education
while supporting, in the meantime, their large families as well.
Butterfly Foundation is presently engaged in the implementation of
several humanitarian projects in Boditti: a 193 meters deep water
well has already been delivered to the population of the village thanks
to the financial support of Aurora Assicurazioni Spa and the technical
cooperation in force with VIS Rome.
A small clinic for first aid and monitoring health conditions of these
children is presently under construction while an elementary school
for 400 students and a women promotion building will soon be built
in accordance with the availability of required funds. |
