A new distance adoption
program has been implemented last March 2008 in Guder, a small village
two hours drive far from Addis Abeba,.
It's intended to support 70 orphan girls living in a facility where
Sister Martha Abdollo, together with two sisters, is taking good care
of them. There is no drinkable water available therefore the girls
are obliged in turn to collect water at a source located ten kilometres
distance.
The water they collect has still to be boiled being polluted..
A good part of the girls goes to school in the morning and helps
the sisters during the day in the kitchen or the fields. Other
girls take care of the cattle.
Every girl could tell her personal story, very often made of solitude
and sadness. Some of them have been abandoned when still infants.
In order to support this project we ask for 200,00 euro/year for
each girl. The donation will contribute to better life conditions
of all the others as well..
