On december 13th last the Butterfly foundation delivered
to the people of Geza Mekar, a village located
at the outskirts of Shiraro, a water well drilled at the depth of
40 meters, thanks to the financial contribution of the non-profit
association “Volontari l’Accoglienza”
based in Rocca Canavese (Turin) as well as to the technical and
logistic support granted by VIS as well as by the Catholic Secretariat
of the city of Adigrat. Approx. 1.500 people living this village
will finally benefit of drinkable water .
In Arbaba, a village totalling approx. 3.000 inhabitants
located at the outskirts of the city of Gondar
(Amhara region) the Butterfly foundation delivered on December 15th
2006 a water well drilled at the depth of 204 meters connected to
the electrical power of the city as well as a huge water tank with
several drinking points to satisfy the needs of the whole resident
population.The financing of the project has been secured by the
company Highway Incentive srl based in Milan. |
