| Hotelplan Italia,
in collaboration with the Butterfly Foundation non-profit "Écoles
sans Frontières" has given life to a new important initiative: the
construction of a school in Madagascar, near the capital of Antanarivo. |
| The project, wholly financed by Hotelplan Italia,
has provided for the design and the realization of a new scholastic complex to substitute the existing one,
which was almost completely destroyed by fire and at any rate was too small to hold its more than 300
students of the nearby villages. |
The construction of the two school buildings started
immediately after the end of the rainy season last April 2004 and has been successfully completed,
with a great opening cerimony last November 13th 2004.
The local contracting company Bevalala, obliged to solve some structural problems while completely
refurbishing the existing building gave evidence to be a sound technical partner of the Butterfly Foundation;
the latter succeeded to finance and supply the electric power to the whole village of Ambohinome where
the school has been built. |
The project implementation includes the realization of a drinkable water well,
igienic facilities both for the pupils and the professors, the refurbishing of the church and the sacristy,
paving of the courtyard and fencing wall.
