Kaung-to School
Shan, Myanmar |
|
This school has been built
in the village of Kaungh-to in the rural community of North Hti Bua,
in Southern Shan State, Myanmar.
200 families live in the village while over 1000 people are living
in such a rural community.
250 kids, aged between 5 and 15, obliged in the past to walk several
miles to reach the closest school, are now in position to have their
own secondary school in the village in addition to the renewed existing
primary school.
The project has been completed thanks to the financial support of
Aurora Assicurazioni Spa. agents and head office,
that in the year 2004, have decided to extend their solidarity action
to this Country standing in a very critical situation, due to the
present political regime, and to the specific field of school instruction,
which is a first step to free the kids from the risk to be used as
a low cost labour. |
|
| The technical and logistic
support of New Humanity Foc-siv association, already present in Myanmar
since a few years, has been equally extremely important for the realization
of this school. |
|
| The structure, matching
the local architecture has been completed in three months only and
six large classroms and separate toilet facilities. |
