| The development of the city, and the continuous growth of the population which counts at least 1500 children of primary school age, brought these organisations to the decision to build three school units in order to withhold the children who are a part of the 15.000 habitants of Boditti. The 18 classes will be a part of an integrated project which includes not only the drinkable water well which has already been created by the organisation, but also a small clinic completed on Oct. 1st 2007, administration and laboratories for craft activities for women. | |||
| 1. Construction and furnishing of school structures | |||
| The first
block for 6 elementary classes, which stands on two floors (3 classes
per floor) which in turn can hold approximately 300 children
has been opened on October 1st 2007 with a great celebration
widely attended by the local population as well as by a large
number of the Foundation friends who supported this project. The classrooms are fully furnished with desks, chairs, blackboards and all materials necessary for school activities. |

| 2. Activation of courses for the elementary school – basic education | |||
| Saint Anne
Congregation takes on the task of the teachers training
as well as of the registration of the pupils, with special attention
to female students who are usually penalised from accessing primary
education. Approximately 8 courses of basic education will be held, from the first to the eighth level in conformity with the disposition and programs of the Ministry for Education and all that which concerns primary education. During the first year f the school’s existence, the courses from the 1st to the 4th grade will be activated, with a total of 360 pupils who will be inserted in the basic education curricula. |

The total amount raised by the Butterfly Foundation for the construction of the first phase of the school: has been 180.400 euros |

| This project currently requires an important economic contribution for the construction of the second block of six classrooms and relevant services . For any donation in favour of this initiative, please clearly indicate “support for Boditti Elementary school / phase two” as title of donation. | |||
