San Pedro Agricultural School - Indios Reserve - Rio Andirà - Amazon
Forest - Brazil This school, built in 1988 thanks to a missionary Priest, today welcomes approximately sixty Indios children. They are taught notions of agriculture and livestock care, and the goal of the basic instruction is the preservation of the indigenous language and culture. Recently new classrooms, dormitories, and a refectory have been built, thanks to the savings of Sibylle and Renato. There is still much to accomplish.
Tashi Boarding School for tibetan children - Kathmandu - Nepal
The Tashi Boarding School, recently completed in Kathmandu in the Boudha neighborhood, is in a position to guarantee a primary and secondary education to approximately 180 Tibetan and Nepali children as well as room and board for one hundred of the total number of children. A program of “distance learning” has been activated to contribute to the costs of managing this school.
Scuola Saint Joseph - Antanarivo - Madagascar
The project, financed by Hotelplan Italia, has funded the development of a new school complex which will substitute the existing one that was almost completely destroyed by a fire. The Butterfly foundation took care of the design and the turnkey construction of this school for 320 pupils. The school was opened November 13th 2004.
Kaungh-to School - Shan, MyanmarIn the frame of the new school construction program in third world Countries, thanks to the financial support given by the agents and head office of Aurora Assicurazioni S.p.a., the Butterfly foundation has recently completed the turnkey construction of a secondary school in Kaungh-to village, in Southern Shan State which can accommodate 210 pupils.
Boditti Primary School - Boditti, EthiopiaIn May 2006, after an agreement between VIS – International Volunteers for Development - the Saint Anne Congregation and Butterfly Onlus, the plans to build a new Elementary school in Boditti began. Boditti is 380 km southwest of Addis Abeba, in Ethiopia, and has approximately 15.000 inhabitants. On Oct. 1st 2007 the first block of six classrooms was opened and accommodates approx. 300 pupils.
Mauro Hospital- Boditti, EthiopiaBoditti " Centre for the promotion of maternal and child health care" , built and funded by the Zorzetto family in memory of their son Mauro , was opened on Oct. 1st 2007 in Boditti, a town that is situated 380 km southwest of Addis Abeba and will operate as a first aid and prevention centre in favour of approx. 1.000 children of the primary school currently under construction, as well as of their families. |

| INITIATIVES IN ITALY | |
 Indio Children - Forlì, ItalyForlì branch of Butterfly foundation is presently activating in the Emilia Romagna Region, a project specifically dedicated to children and teenagers of various cultural and social standards, living in a state of great discomfort and crisis. The project consists in the renovation of the Podere Serra owned by Ente Orfanatrofi (Forlì) and in the completion of the resulting residential structure which is intended to welcome 12 children temporarily entrusted to social care services. During 2006-2007, the Butterfly Onlus Foundation, thanks to the support from Western Union FSI, has contributed to the development of support programs and help for foreign communities living in Genoa, with particular attention to the Ecuadorian community. |

Center for the Disabled and Orphans of Payaphyu (Myanmar) with New
Humanity - Focsiv The centre of Payaphyu, in the north of Burma, currently houses approximately 170 patients with mental illnesses and physical deformities as well as numerous orphaned children, in a context of extreme poverty. We are engaged in the construction of new centres for assistance and rehabilitation.
Project "Laura Vicuña" House - Quito - Ecuador
The project helps lead toward a viable life path for all of the young girls who end up in the house after a life of violence and abandonment: accommodation, instruction, and integration into the social life of the area are at the core of this path.
Fundaciòn Los Niños del Mañana - Argentina
The Butterfly Onlus Foundation, in collaboration with Funima International Associazione onlus and the Fundaciòn Los Niños del Mañana has recently funded the development of a 53 metre deep water well in the El Moreno area (Andes). The project is meant for the population of the village that counts 300 inhabitants, as well as 110 children using the local food canteen. |
| INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION | |
Construction of potable water wells 2003/2005 - Ethiopia (COOPI ONG) The project, supported primarily by Aurora Assicurazioni S.p.a., has been implemented by the Butterfly Foundation, thanks to the technical support & local assistance of the COOPI non-profit organization which aided the completion of five potable water wells for 2.000 beneficiaries among the rural populations of OROMO and SEKOTA regions, in areas where drought and famine are putting the lives of millions of people at risk.
Construction of potable water wells 2006 - Ethiopia (VIS) During the first quarter of 2006 the Butterfly foundation, thanks to the renewed economic support secured by Aurora Assicurazioni S.p.a. insurance company, and the technical cooperation established with the non-governmental organization VIS, has already completed three new potable water wells in Ethiopia in the villages of Obbe, Bicot and Boditti. Two additional water wells located in Shiraro and Arbaba were opened to the local populations last December 2006 thanks to the financial support granted by the “Volontari l’Accoglienza” association, based in Rocca Canavese (Turin) and the Highway Incentive s.r.l. company, based in Milan.

Monastery Education School - MYANMARProject
for the adoption of orphaned and indigent children of eight different
ethnicities present in Myanmar, at the monastic complex of Yadanapon
Yeikneyein Yangoon, where the presence of Foundation Butterfly is
able to guarantee accountability for the donations it receives.
Lama Tashi - Kathmandu, Nepal Program of "long distance adoptions" dedicated to Tibetan children, refugees in Kathmandu in Nepal and in the Bhandara district, in India and managed personally by Lama Tashi, director of the Tibet House in Votigno (Reggio Emilia) and promoter of the TASHI SCHOOL that the Butterfly Foundation implemented and officially opened on March 26th 2005 in Boudha/Kathmandu, Nepal.
Syria “Long Distance adoptions” of children of Sudanese families obliged to escape from their own Country due to a dreadful and forgotten war that lasted 10 years, during which over two million died.
These families have no chance of paying any school fees and live in great difficulty. We decided to support a kindergarten built two years ago in Damascus by Sister Guerrina, sheltering 37 small kids, and to implement a distance adoption program dedicated to the children of the poorest refugee families.
Brazil “ Long distance adoptions” program for malnourished children living in the slums of Parintins, in the Amazon forest, Brazil, in cooperation with the local diocese, the Pastoral de Criança and “Padre Colombo” Hospital. Colombia A new program of long distance adoptions is addressed to children living in Medellin, Colombia, in extremely poor conditions and malnourishment. A missionary priest from Colombia, Don Alvaro Cano, resident in our Country for many years, is the local testimonial together with the Forlì branch of the Butterfly Foundation.
