On June 17th, 2011, with the completion of phase II of the project, four new classrooms at the Martina School in Kafna have been delivered to the students, thanks to the complete renovation of an old structure originally built with stones by local residents.
From a ruin at the back of the school, there is now a large space used as a library by the children as well as a teachers’ lounge. There are also plans to improve access to the various structures by installing concrete stairs.
These new classrooms, which will be fully furnished like the others, allow the school to limit classes to 50 students per class, with two shifts scheduled.
