On January 13, 2011, Butterfly Onlus Foundation had carried out the installation of AGENA well in Simret District, Administrative Province of Ganta Afeshum, Tigray Region, Ethiopia.
The well, whose realization was made possible by financing assured from Associazione Volontari l’Accoglienza (Hospitality Volunteers’ Association) (TO) was given a hand pump and duly fenced.
It allows 450 people, among who are women and children who will finally be able to drink clean water.
The Simret area is found in Ganta Afeshum Woreda, about 30 km. to the West of Adigrat, Tigray Region, Ethiopia. One is dealing with a particularly arid region and it is difficult to access where the population lives on subsidence farming
