On 10th February 2010, in Agerale, in the woreda of Irob, 40 km northeast of the centre of Adigrat, Tigray Region, Ethiopia, a well for drinking water was unveiled.
It was drilled to a depth of 60 metres and functions with a hand pump. The beneficiaries are 130 family units, which equals approximately 650 people in this village and neighbouring villages. The area is particularly barren and dry and the people’s request to the Local Government for a water well was unsuccessfully dating back several years.
The associazione Volontari l’Accoglienza (TO) funded this project.
