As part of the “Donate the Water” scheme, which has been made possible through the partnership between the Butterfly Charity Foundation and the Catholic Association of Adigrat, a water well was inaugurated on June 18th 2015 in ANZA SERAWAT in the Woreda of Sasietsaemba which lies in the eastern area of the Tigray region.
The construction of this well, drilled to a depth of 56 metres and operated by means of a manual pump was made possible by the friends of Mr Padraig Feeley; particular appreciation is to be extended to the company PE LABELLERS for the support they’ve shown in this project.
The number of direct beneficiaries in the immediate surroundings of the well is estimated at 200 people; in addition, a large number of neighbouring villages will be able to draw benefit from this project.
For the maintenance and management of the well a village Water & Sanitation committee has been established in agreement with the local authorities.
