Gebel Kalay water well

As part of the “Donate Water” scheme, which has been made possible through the partnership established between Butterfly Charity Foundation, and ECC-SDCOAd-B one water well, completely dry for several years, has been rehabilitated at the village of GEBEL KALAY, Gulomakeda district, Tigray region, Etiopia and the official opening took place on June 5th 2019.

Gebel Kalay water well

As part of the “Donate Water” scheme, which has been made possible through the partnership established between Butterfly Charity Foundation, and ECC-SDCOAd-B, (Catholic Association of Adigrat), several projects water-related, are presently under progress in the Tigray region, North of the country at the border with Eritrea. The above, following to the recent severe drought, the worst since over the last years.

A water well, completely dry for several years, has been rehabilitated at the village of GEBEL KALAY, Gulomakeda district, Tigray region, Etiopia and the official opening took place on June 5th 2019.

The project, funded by Samuel, has foreseen the rehabilitation of one dry water well through the supply of new extended pipes to reach the depth of 67 metres, a brand new, hand-operated, pump, fencing and training of the Water and Sanitation Committee, in accordance with running practice. The number of beneficiaries is in the range of 700 people.
