In the frame of “ GIVE THE WATER PROJECT” established between Butterfly foundation and ADCS ( Adigrat Catholic Secretariat) the official opening of a new water well took place on June 20th 2015 in Golgol, Ganta – Afeshum Province, Dibla district, a village located in the eastern part of Tigray region.
The well, operated by a hand pump, has been drilled at the depth of 52 metres and approx. 350 people are the beneficiaries of this action.
The total population of this province is 111,043 inhabitants distributed in 19 zones, while the people living in the intervention area are 8.870,00, approx. 2000 households.
A WAT-SAN ( Water & Sanitation) committee has been established for the maintenance and operation of the well.
The project has been funded by Gino Costa and dedicated to his sons: Stefano and Alessio.
