As part of the “Donate Water” scheme, which has been made possible through the partnership established between Butterfly Charity Foundation and ECC-SDCOAd, (Catholic Association of Adigrat), several projects water-related, are presently under progress in Tigray and Afar region, North of the country at the border with Eritrea.
On the date of 6 November 2019 Kokhat water well, located in the Tigray region, north of Ethiopia has been officially opened and clean water delivered to the local population. In accordance with running practice, new extended pipes have been installed to reach 64 metres depth, below the water level, as well as a brand new pump. New fencing has been erected as well. The number of beneficiaries has been calculated to be in the range of 200 people.
This well has been funded by Anna Molteni & Silvano Zanon a long-dated friends and donors of Butterfly foundation.
