As part of the “Donate the Water” scheme, which has been made possible through the partnership established among Butterfly Charity Foundation, EEC-SDCOAd, (Catholic Association of Adigrat) and the charity association Volontari l’Accoglienza di Caselle (TO), a new water well has been drilled in the village of LIADO, in Sasie-Tsaedaemba province, Tigay Region.
The total number of beneficiaries is 300 individuals not counting the people living in the nearby villages who will access to the clean water as well.
A hand operated pump and pipes has been installed in order to reach a depth of 58 metres, far below the aquifer level. Fencing has been erected in accordance with the usual procedure and the Water & Sanitation committee established in accordance with the common practise in order to guarantee due maintenance and operation of the well.
The well, funded by Joos Janse of Vo l’A association in order to celebrate his 80th anniversary, has been officially opened on June 2nd 2018
