As part of the “Donate Water” scheme, which has been made possible through the partnership established between Butterfly Charity Foundation and ECC-SDCOAd, (Catholic Association of Adigrat), several projects water-related, are presently under progress in Tigray and Afar region, North of the country at the border with Eritrea.
This project includes the rehabilitation of five water wells in the Irob province, districts of Endalgheda, Altena, Agerelekoma, Endamosa.
Quakayto water well, located at Endalgheda district, at 49 metres depth, has been opened on June 9th 2018. In accordance with running practice, new extended pipes have been installed to reach an adequate depth, as well as a brand new pump. New fencing built has been erected thanks to the village people contribution. The number of beneficiaries of this well are 300 people approx.
The well has been funded by Mr Melchiore Bonollo who financed five water wells rehabilitation in the area.
