On 15th March 2008, thanks to the financial support of the SANTAGADA family in memory of their son Alessandro, a 35 metre-deep well with a hand pump was opened in the village of Endalgheda, a village situated in the woreda of Irob, 3 hours´ drive north of Adigrat, in a mountainous, barren area with frequent food shortages.
The beneficiaries of this project are 1,400 people approx. The well has been duly fenced in accordance with the usual practice and will be operated by had derived pump for easy maintenance purposes.
With this gesture, Alessandro’s family wanted to bring to life the love for their son in every drop of this well that will guarantee clean water for the whole community.
