Several schools and healthcare structures were the primary targets during the war and could not operate.
Some schools reported the heavy consequences of a dire war. Gembeba school ( Bukot) suffered from looting educational materials, such as computers and books, and had several damages to the classroom. All mattresses for the rest of the KG pupils have also been looted. The student’s parents could not buy new equipment and asked for our support.
During our last trip to the Tigray region, on February 7th 2024, we had the opportunity to meet the requests expressed by students and teachers of the school. We could deliver stationery, school materials, exercise books and notebooks for the school’s director.
