All students attending schools in the Tigray Region have been forced to stay out of their classrooms for three years, further compromising their already poor education.
According to data from the Ministry of Education, over five hundred schools in the Region could not operate after the war; during such a period, most of the schools were the target of the enemy, a place of refuge for IDPs obliged to leave their home.
The school benches have been stolen or burned during the winter season.
Thanks to the generosity of our partners at Butterfly U.K., three hundred children from the primary schools of Agamiyo and Dibo, remote villages located in the mountains, are finally able to follow lessons while sitting on real benches.
On behalf of all these children, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Butterfly Foundation U.K. for its unwavering support.
