All the students attending the schools of the Tigray Region have been obliged to desert their classrooms for three years due to the long internal war and the COVID pandemic. The above compromised their already poor learning. During wartime, the school benches have been burned by the displaced families or removed by the enemy.
Michele Petriccione & Glauco Magnelli promoted a successful fundraising campaign to purchase 40 three-seat school benches for the Sefhay elementary school in the Genta Afesum district. This project is dedicated to the memory of Michele’s wife, Maria Grazia Forgetta and his daughter, Gioia, who passed away.
The “Associazione una scuola per Martina”, based in Usseglio (TO ), Italy, provided the students of the school with an additional 65 three-seat benches.
