Water availability is a major problem for communities living in remote areas of Ethiopia’s Tigray Region. Many hand-operated water wells are dry due to the area’s climatic conditions, which have lowered the groundwater level. Women are obliged to walk long distances to fetch polluted water from ponds and rivers, and children are often victims of diseases caused by it.
We express our gratitude to Loredana Rasile for dedicating the rehabilitation of the Zban Asefe water well to the memory of her daughter, Flaminia, who passed away.
The beneficiaries of this gift will be 985 students of the primary school of Zban Asfe.
