The water uptake and distribution of the natural spring at Dara, Irob district, Tigray region, have been submitted to the foundation’s attention as a priority in 2020.
Over 1,000 people living in the area and their livestock faced severe problems accessing clean water due to the poor condition of the existing rusted pipes.
Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic and two-year-long war did not allow any possible action until 2023. Finally, on February 8th 2024, we could take part in the official opening of this important project, including four water distribution points for domestic, animal, and sanitary use, the extension of an additional 600 meters of PVC pipes replacing the existing 100 meters of existing lines, and Water and Sanitation training for future spring water management.
