All students attending schools in the Tigray Region have been forced to stay out of their classrooms for three years, further compromising their already poor education.
According to data from the Ministry of Education, over five hundred schools in the Region could not operate after the war; during such a period, most of the schools were the target of the enemy, a place of refuge for IDPs obliged to leave their home.
The school benches were stolen or burned over the winter.
Thanks to the generosity of Loriana & Lorenzo Becatti, 180 students will be able to sit on real three-seat benches while attending their lessons at Akora School in the Tsaeda Emba Province, Tigray Region, Ethiopia.
On behalf of all these children, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to this long-standing friend organisation.
