From December 2017 till March 2018, Nosy Be island, in Madagascar, has been knocked down by six typhoons; the first and the fifth ones have been destructive. High winds and heavy rains brought death and destruction all over: 10 classrooms of “Tsaiky Tsara“schools, originally built at ANBONDRONA and managed by our long-dated friend of ours, Manina Consiglio, have been totally wiped out and 600 pupils are without any chance to attend the school. ( see“I Bambini di Manina del Madagascar”)
Thanks to the funds made available by Filippo Leandro Benvenuti, through his bequest completing the required funding of the project, it has been possible to finance the construction of six new classrooms made of solid concrete walls. The project, completed and opened on November 19th 2018, enables 360 pupils to have now 6 real duly furnished classrooms and a water well at the school compound.
