As part of the “Donate Water” scheme, which has been made possible through the partnership established among Butterfly Charity Foundation, its technical local partner ECC-SDCO Ad and the charity association Volontari l’Accoglienza based in Caselle (TO), a water well has been drilled at the village of ASAGARBA, Irob province, Endamosa district, Tigray Region.
The total number of beneficiaries is approximately 400 individuals not counting the people living in the nearby villages who will access the clean water as well.
A hand-operated pump and relevant piping have been installed in order to reach a depth far below the aquifer level. Due fencing has been erected in accordance with the usual procedure and a Water & Sanitation Committee, established in accordance with the common practise in order to guarantee due maintenance and operation of the well.
The well, funded by the Vo l’A association, has officially been opened on June 2nd 2018 and dedicated to Lucia Tirnetta.
