One brand new water well has been drilled In the village of AWO HAWATSI. The well has been equipped with a hand pump and drilled to a depth of 60 meters. In this area, precipitation is particularly scarce and irregular and they take the risk of periodical collecting and intestinal diseases, particularly tied to the use of contaminated water, which are very frequent.

Awo Hawatsi water well

One brand new water well has been drilled In the village of AWO HAWATSI  (Alitena District), with an estimated population of 110 family units equal to almost 600 people, located in Irob Administrative Province, Tigray Region, Ethiopia;  the official opening of the well took place on January 12, 2011, and was attended by the donor,   Associazione Volontari l’Accoglienza , in front of the entire population of the village and the surrounding villages.

The well has been equipped with a hand pump and drilled to a depth of 60 meters.

The realization costs of this well were supported by the Associazione Volontari l’Accoglienza  (TO), a consolidated partner of the  Butterfly Foundation.
