Kadoyta water well

Several water-related projects are underway in the Tigray region, located in the country’s North, at the border with Eritrea.

The “Donate the Water” scheme has been made possible through the partnership between the Butterfly Foundation and ECC-SDOAd-B (Catholic Association of Adigrat) to implement several water-related projects. The above is in the context of the recent severe drought, the worst in recent years.

A water well that has been completely dry for several years will be rehabilitated in the village of KADOYTA, Gulomekada district, Tigray region, Ethiopia.

The project, funded by the Gatti-Lafranconi family, is dedicated to Pietro, Antonia, Giulia e Marc, Francesca, Ludovico, Monica, Arianna, Costanza, Modu, Francesco, Giacomo, Cecilia, Marco, Alessandro, and Francesco. It will include the supply and installation of new extended pipes to reach an adequate depth, a brand new, hand-operated pump, fencing, and training of the Water and Sanitation Committee under running practice.

The number of beneficiaries is in the range of 200 people.

Due to the presence of the Eritrean soldiers, we could not open this water well as scheduled!
