As part of the “Donate the Water” scheme, which has been made possible through the partnership established between Butterfly Charity Foundation, ECC-SDCOAd-B,(Catholic Association of Adigrat) and Vo l’A ( Associazione l’Accoglienza), several projects water-related, are presently under progress in Tigray region, North of the country at the border with Eritrea. The above, following to the recent severe drought, the worst since over the last years.
On May 31st 2019 a new water well, drilled at a depth of 63 meters, has been opened at the village of MEGEBA district of Irob, Tigray Region Ethiopia for the benefit of some .400 individuals not counting the people living in the nearby villages who will access to the clean water as well.
A hand-operated pump and due fencing have been provided as well in accordance with the usual procedure together with the establishment of a Water & Sanitation committee that will guarantee due maintenance and operation of the well.
This new water well has been funded by Carlo e Dede, through the Vo l’A association as they did in the past nine years.
