Wutafa water well

A well for drinking water has been inaugurated on 9th February 2010 in Wutafa, in the tabia of Bizet and woreda of Gantaafeshum, 40 km northwest of the centre of Adigrat, Tigray Region, Ethiopia.

The well was funded by some former students of Class D of the SCACCHI  scientific high school in Bari, who reunited after 40 years and decided to finance the construction of this well drilled to a depth of 30 metres, which will give clean water to approximately 300 people of the village as well as those living in the neighbouring villages. The works took three months to be completed. The well is equipped with a hand pump, due to the lack of electricity in the area.
