A new well was inaugurated on 24^th February 2009, in the tabia of SIMRET located in the woreda of Ganta Afeshum, 3 km from the centre of Bizet and 35 km west of Adigrat, Tigray Region, Ethiopia, thanks to the generosity shown by the LIONS of the city of Piacenza – DISTRICT 108, 4^th Ward.

Simret water well

A new well was inaugurated on 24^th February 2009, in the tabia of SIMRET located in the woreda of Ganta Afeshum, 3 km from the centre of Bizet and 35 km west of Adigrat, Tigray Region, Ethiopia, thanks to the generosity shown by the LIONS of the city of Piacenza – DISTRICT 108, 4^th Ward.

The well, enclosed by a fence was drilled to a depth of 60 metres and functions with a hand pump; it will be used by the inhabitants of Simret, which has 110 families (approximately 600 people) and by the students who pass by the village on their way to school.
