On 11th February 2010, a new well, funded by Roberto Tononi & Anna Bernardelli was officially opened in TAKOT, tabia of Alitena, woreda of Irob, 50 km northeast of the centre of Adigrat, Tigray Region, Ethiopia.
The above, following the request of the Regional Government that considered this well to be a priority for the area.
The well of Takotwas drilled to a depth of 55 metres and it operates with a hand pump, for the benefit of approximately 750 people in the village and the neighbouring villages.
