Zamir water well

On 25 November 2010 in the village of ZAMIR (Simret district), in the administrative province of Ganta Afeshum, approximately 35 km west of Adigrat, Tigray Region, Ethiopia, the Butterfly Foundation non-profit organisation inaugurated one water well,  80 metres deep. The same will be able to guarantee a clean water supply to 297 family units ( 1,300 people approx.) thanks to the funds made available by the Volontari l’Accoglienza Association (TO)

The area is particularly arid and difficult to access, where the population lives on subsistence farming and rainfall is scarce and irregular, frequently jeopardising the harvest.
