As part of the “Donate Water” scheme, which has been made possible through the partnership established between Butterfly Charity Foundation and ADCS ( Catholic Secretariat of Adigrat), several projects, water-related, are presently under progress in the Tigray region, North of the country at the border with Eritrea.
The recent severe drought affected the area, the worst since over the last 60 years. A water well has been rehabilitated in the village of Adikahnat, at Tsaeda Emba district in Tigray region, Ethiopia and officially opened on November 22nd 2017.
This project has been funded by Campodelsole winery, located in Bertinoro (FC), Italy, through the ‘Let’s change water into wine” action, launched to finance the rehabilitation of old dry water wells Ethiopia. New extended pipes to reach an adequate depth, a brand new pump, fencing of the Water and Sanitation committee’s well and training have been duly provided following a running practice.
The beneficiaries of this “miracle” are approximately 500 individuals.
