The project has been launched within the department dedicated to the creation of initiatives for primary education for the construction of the primary/lower-middle school of Bukot in Gembeba district, Ganta Afeshum province of Tigray region, Ethiopia.
The lack of classrooms in the entire area is forcibly restricting the number of students who can attend primary and secondary school. Apart from a total lack of school facilities – currently there are no labs and no library – even the minimal amount of school supplies is inexistent. There is not even a typewriter for preparing lesson plans, let alone computers since there is also no electricity in the area. A few years ago, the school board, thanks to the help of the local population, begun building three blocks of classrooms but had no technical and financial resources to complete the job.
