By the end of the year 2013, based on the specific request of the prisoners detained at Adigrat jailhouse, Butterfly Foundation gave the official start to the works related to the implementation of a system intended to recover rainwater from the roofs of the prison facility, to be used for sanitary purposes as well as for irrigation.
Such a project had been indicated as one of the declared priorities of the detained people.
The project, funded by Associazione Volontari l’Accoglienza, based in Caselle (Turin) and executed under the technical responsibility of ADCS ( Adigrat Catholic Secretariat) has been officially opened on February 3rd 2015 at full satisfaction of all the 1.350 prisoners.
