As part of the “Donate the Water” scheme, which has been made possible through the partnership established between Butterfly Charity Foundation and ECC-SDCOAd, (Catholic Association of Adigrat), several projects water-related, are presently under progress in Tigray and Afar region, North of the country at the border with Eritrea.
This project includes the rehabilitation of the following five water wells in the Irob province, districts of Endalgheda, Alitena, Agerelekoma, Endamosa.
Dewhan water well, located at Alitena district, at 68 metres depth, has been rehabilitated and opened on June 4th 2018. In accordance with running practice, new extended pipes have been installed to reach an adequate depth, as well as a brand new pump. Brand new fencing built has been erected thanks to the village people contribution. The number of beneficiaries of this well is 900 people approx since located in the vicinity of a primary school.
The well has been funded by Mr. Melchiore Bonollo who financed the rehabilitation of five water wells in the area.
