On June 15th 2015 it took place the official opening of the Gobezie Goshu water well, located in the city of Adwa, in Tigray Region, Ethiopia; the well has been promoted and funded by the Associazione Volontari l’Accoglienza, based in Caselle (TO) and by the Associazione “ Il Sogno di Tsige” based in Ivrea.
Butterfly Foundation has been in charge of the project implementation through the services of its local technical partner the Adigrat Catholic Secretariat (ADCS).
The well, drilled at a depth of 60 meters, is part of ” The Gobezie Goshu – Home for the elderly” project, implemented by Mrs Roman Tsige in support of 100 disadvantaged and aged people and 1.000 children attending a primary school in the vicinity.
The well is operated by an electric pump and is mainly used for irrigation purposes.
