In the frame of the project: “Make a loving gesture” promoted by Butterfly Foundation and ADCS ( Adigrat Catholic Secretariat), based on the requests of the involved Communities strongly affected by last summer drought in the area, as well as on the great generosity of Ilario’s parents, Monica and Oriano, one new water well, dedicated to the memory of ILARIO, has been opened on March 13th 2016 in GRAREY, Woreda of Dallol, Maevo Tabia, Afar Region.
This one is the third water well donated by his family in memory of Ilario, a young and brilliant guy who passed away because of a car accident.
The well is 67 metres deep and is operated by a hand pump.
The total number of beneficiaries is 900 individuals without mentioning all people living in nearby villages.
This project solved the great survival problem of many people in this remote area which has been affected by the complete lack of rain last summer.
