In the frame of the “Donate the water” scheme promoted and implemented by Butterfly foundation, the charity Association Volontari l’Accoglienza based in Caselle (TO) and ADCS ( Adigrat Catholic Secretariat) a water well has been officially opened at the village of MESNA GITENA, district of Engurale, Irob province on June 19th 2015.
The well, drilled at a depth of 47 metres, duly fenced and operated by a hand pump, has been dedicated to MARCO, a young man who passed away due to a car accident. Beneficiaries of this project approx.. 200 households and the guests of the nearby clinic. A water and sanitation Committee ( WATSAN) has been established for the maintenance and management of the well.
This is the fifth water well implemented in Ethiopia thanks to Marco’s relative’s generosity and great heart.
