On June 16, 2011, after an absolutely unthinkable route that brought us in with only four hours to go, escorted by the military, only 60 kilometres of dirt road, only a few hundred meters from the Eritrean border, Nakata well was installed and it was financed by the A&O, Famila and Svelto stores of GRUPPO ARCA of Cesena.
In the Meketa area, Irob Woreda is found, around 70 km to the northeast of Adigrat, Tigray Region, Ethiopia. One is dealing with a particularly arid area that is also difficult to access, where the local population is subsistence farmers. The well was dug at a depth of 64 meters and will allow more than 750 people to finally drink clean water.
The local population thanked the foundation and Gruppo ARCA for this operation and called for further action in this lost corner of the world, in relation to the need to create a second well and a school for the other 300 children that today are forced to have lessons in four dilapidated classrooms.
