5 cisterns in Tigray

In the frame of the “Give the water” project implemented by the Butterfly Foundation, Vo l’A association and ADCS ( Adigrat Catholic secretariat)  five cisterns in remote areas, at  Irob woreda, have been completed and delivered to the resident people of the scattered villages of the concerned areas.

The general intent was the one to guarantee clean and potable water to several villages where the water availability is extremely difficult. The project consisted of the construction of five cisterns in remote areas.

Selected districts for the implementation of these cisterns were the ones of Alitena, Woratle e Haraze Sebata that cannot be reached by the drilling machine. Over 5.000 cattle and 2000 resident people are the beneficiaries of this project that has been concluded last September 30th 2015   at the following locations: Yahodaga, Barbare gade, Hamiro, Awur Mudum, Elisan.   We could reach Barbare Gade cistern only, being the others in extremely remote areas.
