During our last trip to the Tigray Region, we could personally assess an extremely dire situation. We noticed very few animals along the roads and fields due to their disappearance during wartime. Such a famine had not been known since 1985; we could visit schools without benches, used by the displaced people as wood to burn or looted by the enemies. We received many requests for help, mainly to rehabilitate dry water points, which are the primary element of survival.
Our long-time friend Daniele Caporaletti, who already financed a water well in the Afar region, decided to secure the required funds for the rehabilitation of this water well in the community of Nihugta, Irob province, and Endamosa district.
The opening ceremony of this well took place on November 22st, 2024, and was attended by many people willing to express their joy at the availability of clean and potable water close to their homes.
