A jazz concert has been arranged in Foggia on March 3rd 2016 to raise funds for the implementation of a water well in Ethiopia.
In the frame of the “Donate the Water” scheme, implemented by the collaboration between ADCS (Adigrat Diocesan Catholic Secretariat) and the not-for-profit Butterfly Foundation, a well has been constructed in GERESSA, in the woreda [district] of Irob in the western area of the Tigray region.
Ethiopia is the biggest and most populated country in the Horn of Africa with a surface area of 1,098,000 km2 and a population of over 90 million people. The country is one of the poorest in Africa and in the world, and it is 169th out of 177 countries in the Index of Human Development carried out by the UNDP.
A water well has been rehabilitated in Geressa and officially opened on June 19th 2015 in the memory of Alexandra, who left the earthly world on February 6th 2013 and will remain present as an angel on Earth, bringing water and life to those who need it.
