Da’aru water well

On  October 7th 2013  a  water well has been opened in the village of  Da’aru the “woreda” of Sasietsaeda-emba, where the total population is estimated at about 37,763  a water well has been delivered to the people thanks to the support of Associazione Volontari l’Accoglienza.

Da’aru water well

On  October 7th 2013  a  water well has been opened in the village of  Da’aru the “woreda” of Sasietsaeda-emba, where the total population is estimated at about 37,763 of which 16,473 are male and 21,290 are female.  9,135 households reside in the area, of which 42.6% is female-headed households.

The well, drilled at a depth of 60  meters  and  operated by a hand pump, has been financed by the  Italian association Volontari   l’Accoglienza based in Caselle (TO)A water and sanitation committee has been  established for the management and operation of the well in accordance with the running procedures

The total number of beneficiaries of this well is 250 people approx. Several families living in the area will benefit from the opportunity to drink clean water as well.
