As part of the “Donate the Water” scheme, which has been made possible through the partnership established among Butterfly Charity Foundation, ADCS, the Catholic Association of Adigrat and the charity association Volontari l’Accoglienza di Caselle (TO), a water well was inaugurated in DAHADA in IROB province, Kereda district, in Tigay Region, last June 17th 2015.
The well has been funded by the relatives of FABRIZIO, a young Florentine photographer and journalist who passed away a few years ago. The well drilled at a depth of 57 metres will guarantee clean and potable water to some 300 people. A water and sanitation Committee ( WATSAN) has been established for the maintenance and management of the well.
Unfortunately, a funeral celebrated at the same time as the scheduled well opening highly restricted the number of people attending the ceremony. In any case, the people who decided to attend in any case such an opening expressed their full gratitude for such a great gift of water and excuses for such circumstances that hindered the presence of more people.
