Gefih Serdi water well

A shallow well,  funded by Associazione Volontari l’Accoglienza, based in Caselle (TO) has been rehabilitated after few years of failure, and  officially delivered to the local population on May 28th 2019 at the village of GEFIH SERDI, Saesie Tsaeda Emba district in Tigray region, Ethiopia.

Gefih Serdi water well

As part of the “Donate the Water” scheme, which has been made possible through the partnership established between Butterfly Charity Foundation, ECC-SDCOAd-B, (Catholic Association of Adigrat) and Vo l’A (AssociazioneVolontari l’Accoglienza), several projects water-related, are presently under progress in Tigray region, North of the country at the border with Eritrea. The above, following the recent severe drought, the worst since over the last years.

A water well, completely dry for several years, has been officially delivered to the local population on May 28th 2019 at the village of GEFIH SERDI, Saesie Tsaeda Emba district in Tigray region, Ethiopia.

This water well, funded by Associazione Volontari l’Accoglienza, based in Caselle (TO) has been rehabilitated after few years of failure, by the installation of new extended pipes to reach 57 metres depth, a brand new, hand-operated pump and due fencing; training of the Water and Sanitation Committee, has been provided as well in accordance with running practice.

The number of beneficiaries is in the range of 400 people. The well has been dedicated to Pietro Tebaldi.
