As part of the “Donate Water” scheme, which has been made possible through the partnership established among Butterfly Charity Foundation, ADCS, the Catholic Association of Adigrat and the charity association Volontari l’Accoglienza di Caselle (TO), a water well has been drilled in the village of OMOTSIGE, in Sasie-Tsaedaemba province, Tigray Region.
The total number of beneficiaries are in the range of some 350 individuals not counting the people living in the nearby villages who will access the clean water as well. A new pump and pipes have been installed in order to reach the depth of 54 metres, far below the aquifer level. Due fencing has been executed in accordance with the usual procedure.
A Water & Sanitation committee has been established in order to guarantee due maintenance and operation of the well.
The well has been funded by Mr Raimondo Pierfortunato and dedicated to his grandmother Casassa Maria Pessinetto and has been opened on November 16th 2016
