As part of the “Donate the Water” scheme, which has been made possible through the partnership established between Butterfly Charity Foundation and ECC-SDCOAd, (Catholic Association of Adigrat), several projects water-related, are presently under progress in Tigray and Afar region, North of the country at the border with Eritrea
A deepwater well has been drilled within the elementary school compound of Meketa, at Irob province, Tigray Region, Ethiopia, where the existing facility shelters 580 students and 30 staff. The well, drilled at a depth of 92 meters finally secures pure and potable water to some additional 600 people living in the area in addition to the school children.
We thank the funders of this project who already financed the construction of the school. The project has been opened on February 3rd 2019.
