The school dedicated to Giuseppina Lubrini is located ten miles from Tsiroanomandidy, Madagascar and provides education to 270 students aged five and seventeen. Two hundred twenty students live in nearby villages, while fifty live in the school village of Amparihy.
The project target is to secure a daily hot meal for the students and the 15 staff and, if achieved, will improve the students’ health conditions while increasing their school attendance.
Like any other rural school in Madagascar, the school is made of mud, and there is no space dedicated to an authentic canteen; therefore, the meals are served in each classroom. Unfortunately, the ”Les Petites Soeurs de Marie Magnificat” Congregation sisters cannot financially support the necessary food supply. Therefore, the student’s parents must prepare basic meals for their children at night.
The required budget for three years of operation of the canteen is €. 27.000, therefore the running cost of the present school year is €. 9.000
