The Saint Marie Lubrini School is located ten miles away from Tsitoanomandidy, Madagascar and provides education to 270 students aged five and seventeen. Two hundred twenty students live in nearby villages while fifty of them live at the school village of Amparihy.
The project target is to secure a daily hot meal for the students and the 15 staff and, if achieved, will contribute to better the health conditions of the students while increasing their school attendance.
Like any other rural school in Madagascar, the school is made of mud, and there is no space dedicated to an authentic canteen; therefore, the meals are served in each classroom. Unfortunately, the ”Les Petites Soeurs de Marie Magnificat” Congregation sisters cannot financially support the necessary food supply. Therefore, the student’s parents are obliged to prepare basic meals for their children at night.
The cost for the daily food supply for the whole scholar year is equal to €. 9.000
