In the frame of the “Donate Water” scheme, established between Butterfly Charity Foundation and ECC-SDOAd-B (Catholic Association of Adigrat), following the demolition of several water wells during the war in the Tigray region, we gave start to rehabilitation works of GODENA water well at Genta Afhesum province. Emergency in Tigray
This water well could finally be opened on July 26th 2023 following the re-habilitation works carried out since 2019. Still, it was impossible to proceed with the official opening due to the COVID-19 pandemic and a war that lasted two years and caused several hundred thousand casualties.
A new water pump, hand-operated, has been installed, new fencing of the well erected, and usual water tests duly carried out. The beneficiaries of this well are at least 400 people.
Mr Alessandro Zandarin funded the well in memory of his daughter, GIULIA, who passed away.
